Types of CA Certificates We Issue

A Chartered Accountant's certificate is one of the most widely required and most trusted forms of financial attestation in India. Government authorities, banks and lending institutions, immigration offices, tender committees, regulatory bodies, and counterparties in commercial transactions routinely require a CA's certificate as evidence of a person's or organisation's financial position, income, turnover, or compliance with specific regulatory requirements. The CA's certificate is trusted precisely because it is issued by a professional who is licensed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), bound by professional ethical standards, and personally liable for the accuracy of the certifications they issue. An incorrect or false CA certificate can result in professional disciplinary action against the CA, cancellation of the certificate, and serious consequences for the recipient of the certificate.

N D Savla & Associates provides a comprehensive range of CA certification services from our Mumbai office. Our Chartered Accountants issue certificates and attestations for individuals, businesses, trusts, and organisations — covering net worth certificates, income certificates, turnover and business existence certificates, certified copies of financial statements, utilisation of funds certificates, foreign remittance certificates (Form 15CB), and all other categories of CA certificate that may be required by Indian or overseas authorities. Every certificate we issue is based on a thorough review of the underlying financial records, is prepared in the specific format required by the requesting authority (where a prescribed format exists), and is issued promptly to meet the client's deadline.

The demand for CA certificates has grown with the increasing formalisation of India's economy and the proliferation of KYC (Know Your Customer) and due diligence requirements across financial, regulatory, and commercial contexts. Banks require CA certificates as part of loan applications and annual account reviews. Government departments require CA certificates as part of grant applications, tender submissions, and licence renewals. Visa and immigration authorities in several countries — including the USA, UK, Schengen countries, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand — accept or require CA certificates for financial proof in visa applications. Regulatory bodies including SEBI, RBI, IRDAI, MCA, and various state authorities require CA certificates for specific filings and approvals.

01

Net Worth Certificate

A Net Worth Certificate is a CA's certification of an individual's or organisation's net worth — the excess of total assets over total liabilities — as at a specified date. It is one of the most frequently required CA certificates, used for: bank loan applications (banks require proof of net worth as part of the credit assessment); government tender submissions (where minimum net worth is specified as an eligibility criterion); visa and immigration applications (to demonstrate financial stability and ability to support the trip); SEBI and other regulatory registrations (where minimum net worth is a licensing criterion); and various other purposes. For individuals, the net worth computation is based on the individual's personal assets — property, investments, bank balances, and other assets — less all liabilities including loans, guarantees, and other obligations. For businesses, the net worth is the paid-up capital plus reserves and surplus as per the latest audited or provisional financial statements. Our dedicated Net Worth Certificate page provides detailed information on this service.
02

Net Worth Certificate for Visa Applications

Visa applications for several countries — particularly for long-stay visas, investor visas, and student visas — require proof of financial means. Embassies and visa offices of the USA, UK, Schengen countries, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand commonly accept a Net Worth Certificate issued by a Chartered Accountant as evidence of the applicant's financial standing. Our Net Worth Certificate for Visa page provides specific guidance on the format and content requirements for visa-related net worth certificates, including the specific financial thresholds and documentation standards typically required by major embassies.
03

Turnover Certificate

A Turnover Certificate is a CA's certification of the annual turnover (gross revenue) of a business for one or more financial years. It is commonly required for: government tenders and procurement processes (where minimum turnover is an eligibility criterion); bank loan applications (where the bank wants independent verification of the business's revenue level); SEBI and other regulatory registrations; and commercial due diligence purposes (where a counterparty wants independent verification of a business's scale). The turnover certificate is based on the financial statements for the relevant years — audited financial statements for past years, and provisional accounts or management accounts for the current year. The certificate specifies the turnover figure, the accounting period, and the basis on which the figure is certified (audited accounts, books of account, or provisional accounts). We issue turnover certificates for proprietorships, partnership firms, LLPs, and companies of all sizes.
04

Utilisation of Funds Certificate

A Utilisation of Funds Certificate is a CA's certification that funds received for a specific purpose — a grant received from a government department, an NGO project grant, a CSR contribution, a development finance loan, or any other restricted fund — have been actually used for the specified purpose and no other. It is required by government grant-giving bodies, bilateral aid agencies, CSR donors, and development finance institutions as part of the grant accountability and reporting framework. The certificate is based on a review of the books of account of the receiving organisation, verification of the expenditure incurred for the specified purpose, and reconciliation of the funds received with the funds utilised. Any unspent balance as at the certification date is disclosed. N D Savla & Associates prepares utilisation certificates for NGOs, trusts, educational institutions, and other grant-receiving organisations in a format compatible with the requirements of the specific grant-giver.
05

Income Certificate (for Individuals and HUFs)

An Income Certificate for an individual certifies the individual's annual income from all sources — salary, business or professional income, rental income, interest and dividend income, and any other sources — for the relevant financial year. It is commonly required by: housing societies (for admission and loan applications); educational institutions (for scholarship and fee concession applications); government authorities (for income-linked eligibility for various schemes); and banks (as part of financial due diligence). The income certificate for an individual is typically based on the filed income tax return (ITR) for the relevant year — which is the most reliable evidence of declared income. Where the ITR has not yet been filed for the current year, it may be based on provisional income computation from the books or from Form 16. N D Savla & Associates issues income certificates for salaried individuals, business owners, professionals, and retired individuals in the format required by the requesting authority.
06

Certified Copies of Financial Statements

Certified copies of financial statements are required in many contexts — banks requiring certified copies of audited balance sheets and P&L accounts as part of annual loan review; regulatory bodies requiring certified financial statements as part of licence applications or renewals; government authorities requiring certified accounts for grant eligibility assessment; and commercial counterparties requiring certified accounts as part of due diligence. N D Savla & Associates certifies copies of financial statements — including balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and notes to accounts — from the company's or firm's audited accounts, attesting that the copies are true and correct copies of the financial statements in the books of the entity.
07

Form 15CB — Certificate for Foreign Remittance

Form 15CB is a tax certification required by the Income Tax Act for foreign remittances above Rs. 5 lakh per year (or as otherwise specified). When a resident individual or entity makes a payment to a non-resident or a foreign company — whether as payment for services, as interest, as dividend, as royalty, as purchase consideration, or for any other purpose — the remitting bank requires Form 15CB to be completed by a Chartered Accountant before processing the remittance. Form 15CB certifies the nature of the payment, the applicable rate of TDS (either under the Income Tax Act or under the relevant DTAA), whether TDS has been deducted at the correct rate, and various other details required for tax compliance on cross-border payments. N D Savla & Associates issues Form 15CB for remittances to all countries, coordinating with the client to obtain the necessary information about the payment and the payee and issuing the certificate promptly to meet the remittance timeline.

Provisional Balance Sheet and Financial Projections Certificate

Banks requiring financial statements for loan applications often need provisional financial statements — financial statements prepared for a financial year that has not yet been audited — as part of the credit appraisal. N D Savla & Associates prepares provisional balance sheets and provisional profit and loss accounts based on the available books of account and certifies them as provisional financial statements for the purpose of the bank's credit appraisal. We clearly indicate that the accounts are provisional and unaudited, and disclose the basis on which they have been prepared. In some cases, banks also require financial projections (projected financial statements for future years) certified by a CA as reasonable — N D Savla & Associates prepares and certifies financial projections based on the business plan and historical performance, for submission with loan applications.

The CA Certification Process at N D Savla & Associates

Step 1: Requirement Assessment — We begin by understanding the specific certificate required — what authority is requesting it, what format is required (prescribed form or free format), what financial information must be included, and the deadline for submission. We advise if there are any specific documentation requirements or prescribed formats issued by the requesting authority.

Step 2: Document Collection and Review — We collect the relevant financial documents — ITR, audited financial statements, books of account, bank statements, property documents, investment statements — and review them to verify the information on which the certificate will be based. The CA's certificate is only as reliable as the underlying documents — we do not certify information we cannot verify.

Step 3: Certificate Preparation — We prepare the certificate in the required format — either the prescribed form (for Form 15CB, SEBI certificates, and other format-specific certificates) or a free-format certificate incorporating all the information required by the requesting authority. The certificate is prepared on the firm's letterhead, signed by a Chartered Accountant member of N D Savla & Associates, and stamped with the firm seal.

Step 4: Delivery and Supporting Documents — We deliver the original signed certificate along with any supporting documents (copies of financial statements, ITR acknowledgements) required by the requesting authority. For digital submissions, we provide the certificate in PDF format with a digital signature where required.

⚠ Important: Accuracy Commitment: N D Savla & Associates certifies only what can be independently verified from the client's financial records and supporting documents. We do not issue certificates for inflated or unverifiable financial figures. Certificates based on accurate documentation protect the client from future disputes and protect the integrity of the certification process.

Common Questions

How quickly can a CA certificate be issued?

For straightforward certificates where the underlying documents are already available and verified — such as a net worth certificate based on filed ITR or audited accounts — we typically issue the certificate within 24-48 hours of receiving all required documents. For more complex certificates requiring detailed review of books of account, or for Form 15CB where detailed information about the payment and payee is needed, the turnaround is typically 2-3 working days. For urgent requirements, we offer same-day or next-day turnaround for an additional priority fee — please mention your urgency when contacting us.

What documents are typically required for a net worth certificate?

For an individual's net worth certificate: the most recent filed ITR with ITR-V; bank statements for all accounts; investment statements (demat account statement, mutual fund account statement, fixed deposit certificates, PPF account statement); property documents with current market value (registered sale deed or valuation report); any other asset documents; and a list of all liabilities (outstanding loans, credit card balances, guarantees). For a company or firm's net worth certificate: the latest audited financial statements or provisional financial statements. N D Savla & Associates reviews all these documents and prepares the net worth computation before issuing the certificate.

Can a CA certificate be issued in a specific format required by a foreign embassy?

Yes. N D Savla & Associates is experienced in issuing net worth and income certificates in the formats — or closely approximating the formats — required by embassies and consulates of the USA, UK, Schengen countries, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries. We review the specific requirements of the embassy or visa category and prepare the certificate accordingly. Where an embassy requires the certificate to include specific statements or disclosures, we incorporate these in the certificate. We also advise on whether the certificate needs to be notarised, apostilled, or attested for the specific country or purpose.

What is Form 15CB and when is it required?

Form 15CB is a certificate from a Chartered Accountant required under Rule 37BB of the Income Tax Rules for foreign remittances above Rs. 5 lakh per year. It certifies the nature and purpose of the remittance, the applicable TDS rate (under the Income Tax Act or applicable DTAA), and whether TDS has been deducted and deposited correctly. It is required by the remitting bank before processing the foreign remittance. Form 15CB is companion to Form 15CA — the declaration filed by the remitter on the income tax portal. N D Savla & Associates issues Form 15CB for all categories of foreign remittance — payment for services, purchase of goods, royalty, interest, loan repayment, dividend — and files Form 15CA on behalf of the client where required.
