GST E-Invoicing Software in India
IRP Integration, IRN, QR Code & E-Way Bill Compliance

Electronic reporting of B2B invoices to the Invoice Registration Portal — automatic IRN and QR code, e-way bill linkage, and GSTR-1 auto-population for every business above the ₹5 crore turnover limit.

What Is GST E-Invoicing?

GST e-invoicing is the electronic reporting of B2B invoices to a government portal. The seller reports each invoice to the Invoice Registration Portal (IRP) in the standard schema; the portal validates the data, rejects duplicates, and returns a signed invoice with a unique IRN and a QR code before it is shared with the buyer.

E-invoicing now applies above the ₹5 crore turnover limit, and the validated data flows straight into GSTR-1 and the e-way bill. This single source of truth cuts errors and speeds up compliance — so every covered business needs reliable software, not a manual workaround.

Two outputs define every e-invoice. The IRN is a unique 64-character reference for the invoice, and the QR code carries the key details in a digitally signed form — both let any officer verify the invoice instantly. An invoice without an IRN is not a valid tax document for covered suppliers.

N D Savla & Associates sets up and manages GST e-invoicing software across India — Invoice Registration Portal integration, IRN and QR code generation, and e-way bill linkage — connecting with our GST Invoicing, GST E-Way Bill, GST Return Filing, and Indirect Tax Services practices.

Who Must Comply With E-Invoicing?

The e-invoicing mandate is turnover-based, not sector-based — the size of the business decides the duty, though a few categories stay exempt regardless of size.

₹5 Crore Turnover Limit

Applies if aggregate turnover crossed ₹5 crore in any year from 2017-18 onward — in effect from 1 August 2023.

Phased Rollout

The threshold dropped in stages — ₹500cr, then ₹100cr, ₹50cr, ₹20cr, ₹10cr, reaching ₹5cr in Aug 2023.

Growing Firms

The trend signals the limit may fall further, so growing businesses should prepare their software early.

Banks & Financial Institutions

Banks, insurers, NBFCs, and financial institutions are exempt from e-invoicing by category.

Transport Operators

Goods transport agencies and passenger transport operators are excluded from the mandate.

SEZ & Government

SEZ units, government departments, and multiplex e-ticketing services do not generate e-invoices.

Live in Minutes
02

Built-In GST Validation & Tax Calculation

The platform enforces compliance as you bill — it checks GSTIN, HSN, and SAC codes, calculates tax automatically, and prepares clean data for GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B, keeping our GST Invoicing and GST Return Filing fully connected to your e-invoicing.
03

Auto-Population of GSTR-1 & E-Way Bills

One upload becomes many outputs — the validated invoice auto-populates GSTR-1, and the same data creates the e-way bill Part-A. This keeps the e-invoice, GSTR-1, and e-way bill aligned and cuts the mismatches that trigger notices; our GST E-Way Bill team configures the linkage end to end.
IRN → GSTR-1 → EWB
04

Accuracy, Fraud Control & Faster ITC

Real-time validation improves data accuracy, IRN and QR verification curbs fake invoices and evasion, and faster validation speeds up the buyer's input tax credit — improving working capital across the supply chain.

Why Choose Our E-Invoicing Platform

Several features set our e-invoicing software apart, but they share one goal — making compliance effortless and credible:

Common Questions on GST E-Invoicing Software

What is GST e-invoicing?
GST e-invoicing is the electronic reporting of B2B invoices to the Invoice Registration Portal (IRP) run by GSTN. The portal validates each invoice and returns a unique Invoice Reference Number (IRN) and a QR code. The data then auto-flows into GSTR-1 and the e-way bill system, so the invoice is reported once and reused everywhere.
Who is required to generate e-invoices under GST?
Any business whose aggregate annual turnover exceeds Rs. 5 crore in any financial year from 2017-18 onwards must generate e-invoices for B2B supplies. This Rs. 5 crore e-invoicing limit has applied since August 1, 2023, after a phased rollout that began at Rs. 500 crore in October 2020.
What is the current e-invoicing turnover limit?
The current e-invoicing turnover limit is Rs. 5 crore, effective August 1, 2023. The threshold was lowered in stages from Rs. 500 crore, through Rs. 100 crore, Rs. 50 crore, Rs. 20 crore and Rs. 10 crore, to the present Rs. 5 crore.
Who is exempt from GST e-invoicing?
Exempt entities include banks, insurers, NBFCs and other financial institutions, goods transport agencies, passenger transport operators, SEZ units, government departments, and cinema multiplex e-ticketing services. These remain outside the e-invoicing mandate regardless of turnover.
What is an IRN and a QR code on an e-invoice?
The IRN, or Invoice Reference Number, is a unique 64-character hash the IRP assigns to each registered invoice. The QR code is a digitally signed code carrying the key invoice details. Together they confirm the invoice was validated by the portal and let any officer verify it instantly.
How does e-invoicing connect to GSTR-1 and the e-way bill?
Once the IRP registers an invoice, the data auto-populates GSTR-1 and can generate the Part-A of the e-way bill in the same step. This removes duplicate entry, keeps the e-invoice, GSTR-1 and e-way bill in sync, and reduces reconciliation mismatches.
What are the benefits of using e-invoicing software?
E-invoicing software auto-generates the IRN and QR code, syncs data to GSTR-1 and the e-way bill, and validates GSTIN, HSN and SAC codes. The result is faster reporting, cleaner ITC reconciliation, fewer fake-invoice risks and simpler audits, with web, mobile, API and Excel options to suit any workflow.
